I have to say, I was so impressed with Steve, Steve has complete integrity; was honest and gave various options for our proposed loft conversion. Steve spent the time and effort with us to see if the loft conversion was viable (and worth it), as we are looking to emigrate and either sell or rent our house in around five years time. On Steve’s honest advice, we decided to not pursue this avenue. Whilst this obviously meant not offering the project to Steve as a result, I was so impressed with his honesty and time. This was our first experience of building a home extension and we didn’t know much about the process. We felt from our first meeting that we could trust Steve to help us, and our instincts proved to be correct. Steve listened to what we were hoping to achieve, made practical suggestions as to what would and wouldn’t work and quickly provided us with the first set of plans. He also met with our builder (even though we chose a builder not recommended by Steve) and talked through the plans with him. During the building works he visited a couple of times to check progress, which we have later learnt is quite unusual and not something that all architects will do. We were planning on having a double storey extension built on the side of the house and we didn’t have a clue where to start. We contacted 3 different architects of which Steve was the first we saw, and we knew from the first meeting that we would go with Steve.
